Today was an eventful day, in an exciting way. We started off the day coloring together and making balloon hands with the gloves. We then moved onto chipotle again for lunch (thanks Jamie!) while we waited for Jo Mama to get here. Once she got here Evie received a gift basket from the Hicks Family (thank you guys!) and she dug into that right away – straight into the play-doh kit. She and Jo Mama then built an Elsa puzzle together that Walker got her along with her first plate of spaghetti that Mason and Sarah made for her. It wasn’t but 20 mins later that she was asking for another plate of spaghetti. Thank you guys for all of the food! We also dug into these fun tracing boards that my mom brought. Evie was unhooked for an hour today and we were finally able to go outside! She spent maybe 30-40 mins outside and finished up taking a bubble bath before getting hooked back up. Today was probably the first day she had some sort of realization that she was “sick” when seeing another girl outside without any hair. She asked what happened to her hair and I responded with “she’s really sick which has caused her to lose her hair” and she then asked me “am I really sick?” followed with how she doesn’t want to lose hers 🥺 but we played with bubbles outside, played connect four, and she enjoyed her second plate of spaghetti outside. We ended the day with a visit from her great Uncle Robert who brought a fun magnetic puzzle and then some cuddles and hand holding with Maisie while we watched another movie. And if you were wondering, yes she had chipotle, again, for dinner (thanks again Jamie lol). Tomorrow she’ll have her second round of chemo, so praying it goes just as well as the first time. Her blast cells today were 3%.
Every Day Evie… You’ve Got This!
